What is the process for obtaining an Employer Identification Number (EIN) for my small business?

1. Visit the official website of the Income Tax Department of India (https://www.incometaxindia.gov.in/) and click on the 'Register' button.
2. Select the 'New Registration' option and choose 'Employer Registration' under the 'Taxpayer Type' category.
3. Fill in the necessary information, including your personal details and the details of your business.
4. Once you have completed the form, submit it online and you will receive an acknowledgement number.
5. You will then receive an email from the Income Tax Department with instructions on how to complete the registration process.
6. Follow the instructions provided in the email to complete the registration process.
7. Once you have completed the registration process, you will receive your EIN.

Alternatively, you can also apply for an EIN offline by visiting the Income Tax Office and submitting a physical application form.
