What are REITs?
Curious about REITs
REITs, or Real Estate Investment Trusts, are companies that own, operate, or finance incomegenerating real estate properties. They allow individuals to invest in real estate without actually owning or managing the properties themselves. REITs were created by Congress in 1960 to make it easier for individuals to invest in real estate and have since become a popular investment option. They must meet certain requirements to qualify as a REIT and receive favorable tax treatment.
